Where The Wild Things Are Party

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

To celebrate the opening of the Where the Wild Things Are movie we had a rumpus of our own. We read the book, played "pin the tail on Max", made Wild Thing costumes, and then had a parade through the upper level of the library. We made lots of noise and had a great time. Check out the pictures below!

Cookie by Jaqueline Wilson
Beauty Cookson's dad is always yelling at her about something. He's so out of control that Beauty lives half her life as a lie. She pretends to her parents that she has loads of friends, and that they all like her. But really, the girls at school make fun of her and call her Ugly. When Beauty's birthday party ends in disaster, Beauty and her Mum take off. They find themselves in an idyllic seaside resort where their new-found freedom and a moment of culinary inspiration give them a hobby, an income and even a new nickname for Beauty!

We are raffling off a copy of Cookie by Jacqueline Wilson (Ages 9-12).

Lemony Snicket Is Back!

Saturday, October 3, 2009

That's right! Fans of A Series of Unfortunate Events will be happy to hear that a new series from Lemony Snicket is to be published by Egmont! Reports can be found here, here, and here.

Snicket said: “I can neither confirm nor deny that I have begun research into a new case and I can neither confirm nor deny that the results are as dreadful and unnerving as A Series Of Unfortunate Events. However, I can confirm that Egmont will be publishing these findings."
